My son in law put 968 mirrors on a few years ago and never hooked up the power. Hooking up the power yesterday and had many problems. This is for and early run of 86 944 Turbos. This is the wiring we are following:

Mirror Driver Pass
Bk WH/Br. stripe black
red bk/br. stripe bk/br. stripe
blue wh/br. stripe wh/br. stripe
white white white
brown brown brown
brown br/yellow stripe br/yellow stripe

2 problems:
1) driver side only goes up/down, no side to side

2) pass.side only has 5 wires for the door ? No black wire. Is there a jumper I should us ?

Any thoughts would really help, Thanks

each mirror should have at least 6 wires - perhaps you are missing one of the brown wires for the heated mirror - IIRC, they attach to the back of the mirror with a bullet connector and the wire can be removed. BTW, the passenger mirror also has the 2 purple wires for the 968 dash temp gauge - its the little "bulb" on the underside. These obviously cannot connect to anything on the 944/951 harness.
