Default wanted: bad cat buy or trade

Preferences: tabby, big claws, hisses and bites, eats goldfish, and for a 1989 8v NA

No, j/k. You know what I mean. I don't have emissions testing in my county so I don't know if mine is any good or not, but I want to get one that we know is bad so I can gut it and not feel like I am destroying a perfectly good cat. If I can verify that mine will pass emissions I just might put it up for sale or trade it for your bad one + cash.

If anyone posts any cat pictures I will...
be amused. But legit responses are preferred.

Just replace it with a straight piece of pipe. That will perform better.

I went the straight pipe way (umm, exhaust that is). I didn't think it would cost me too much. I wanted it fully stainless steel like my B&B catback is (down to the bolts). I ended up paying 140 bucks for stainless flanges as I want my cat to be able to bolt right back in if need be. I then have to pay the exhaust shop 75 to make it, and 15 bucks for new stainless bolts.

It's cheaper then SFR wanted for a "test pipe", and will be a true bolt in instead of hacking my exhaust all up and welding something in all half a$$ed.

If you are just going to weld something in, you won't spend much. To do it the right way, it's going to cost you wether you piece it together or buy one pre-made.

I need to make it look like something is installed to pass inspection. Otherwise I would do straight pipe. PM sent.

I'll be replacing my cat soon which is currently an OE unit. Let me know if you still haven't gotten what you need.
