Cool! More photos and info? I can't do this to mine (early), but it's pretty spiffy!

Is that a monochramatic screen? Does it actually display maps? Interesting, but its' only 200-300 for a cheap color screened gps unit that you can stick to teh dash

Looks similar to the navigation in my friends '01 Audi S4. No screen with maps, but it gives you audio instructions over the speakers.

Thats great for a stock appearance, having the flip up screen decks is nice, but some of them are just to damn flashy.

This is the standard factory VW / Audi unit. RNS MCD. In fact, this is Blaupunkt unit with Travel Pilot DX navigation. I replaced the ilumination diodes in the fron panel to yellow, to match dash. Original unit has buttons iluminated in red. Unit fits peftect. It is standard 2 DIN. The route guidance is done via speakers. The display is monochrome and shows only arrows, speed, distance, time, etc.

That would be LORAN Red... as you can tell GPS is spelled G, P, S. and uses Satellites!

Looks great. You did not have to connect to the speed sensor itself?

I have to say that looks fantastic!

But having used GPS a bit (handheld Magellan), I can say I'd much prefer it if it had maps. In fact I'd call it mostly useless without it.
