Allright so in my neverending quest to better my 944, I come across a non-functioning E-Brake. I replaced the pads and unsiezed the adjustment screw thing. When I pull up on the e-brake handle, it goes up all the way, a bunch of clicks, and doesn't even come close to engaging. I can't get my seat out because it is stuck to the rails on one side so how would I go about diagnosing/fixing my problem? I'm assuming the line is stretched out becase I can kinda yank on it from under the car and move the pads to the inside of the brake drum. Thanks in advance.

You probably just need to adjust it a bit. That's what the adjustment screw thinggy is for.
You need to turn the star wheel to force the top of the parking brake shoes out a bit. I found that an awl works pretty well for this; I suppose a small phillips screwdriver might work as well. There's a 3/4" hole in the brake rotor. Turn the rotor untill it's at the top, then go in with your awl and use it to turn the starwheel so that it spreads the top of the break pads apart. You have to work by feel in there since you can't see anything. If I'm picturing it correctly, it will be from the top down on the driver's side and from the bottom up on the pass side. Keep adjusting untill the brake grabs the rotor and you can't move it, then back it off untill it just rotates freely.

When I replaced the brakes I messed with that thing so much and couldn't get them to grab at all by using the adjustment screw. I tried the adjustment thing on the lever but couldn't get enough room to work on it, so basically I need to figure out how to get my seat out.

If you pull up the lever with the rotor off, can you see the shoes moving? If you're raising it all the way up and still nothing, I'm wondering if your cable has snapped or frozen.

I thought I remember adjusting the parking brake without removing the seat. I vaguely recall turning the adjuster that's near the handle with the tip of a screwdriver. It was a PITA and took a while to turn it enough.
