If you don't have the money for two tires then don't both with r-tires right now.
Save the 16's for the street and used a 225/50 or 225/45 R tire for autocross. Just wait until the ES100's give up. It won't take much longer. I just think it is a waste to spend money on a 16" R-tire for a 944 NA. BTW.. I get my toyo's RA-1's for 128 each in 225/50 R15.
