Dimmer still works when you put in LED's just not as noticable as stock bulbs would dim! I tried the climate control leds but there is hardly any room to put leds in the button locations and it is hard as hell to take off the buttons without damaging the plastic! Also if you going to put leds I think the best option would be to run a resistor in the wiring itself and then just soldering the leds into the stock locations in the climate control! I made a post a while back on what leds you needed with cross referrencing the stock bulbs! Also I think that you might need to go with a 1 or 2 mm max led on the buttons as the plastic that moves between them has very small holes!

Thanks Randy- now I feel stupid! I LOVE seeing threads ressurected! I PMed him a few times in the last year or so- hope he's ok...
Yes, it's true that too bright of instrument bulbs can be detrimental to driving- mine are ridiculously bright. Need to figure out what resistor to use to get closer back to normal...
I was told that anything less than 7v will cut LED's completely off- is this true? NHSpeedo guy salso told me the stock rheo was supposed to go to 0v, but obviously not, b/c it wont cut the LED's off, nor would it cut regular's off- I've NEVER seen ANY 944 rheo, able to cut off instrument cluster lights completely...
So, mine, by NHS, are surface mounted LEDs at 470 ohms. The guy who did them said that a 30 ohm resistor would cut brightness by 30%- does this sound true? Sounds off to me, but I don't know the formulas.
Another guy told me to use a 10 ohm resistor... Any input from any of you guys who've done this before?
Any input on any of this would be greatly appreciated...
thanks,
Robby

Since there are many people asking for pics, here are some shots from a light conversion I did myself using ricer style neon tube lights, total cost of parts was around $24. Aside from me choosing the blue color, it looks 100% stock from the outside. I have had these in for over a year now and am VERY satisfied with the results.
First my dash in the light.
The rest of these are varrying quality as it's difficult to get my camara setup for the dark.
