+ another 1. Had a couple of great phone convesations with George a while back. Nice guy, and I didn't even buy anything! Where did "banned from Rennlist" come from? Juicy story, perhaps?

I have emailed back and forth with George. Seemed really nice and very in the know with our cars...did not wind up buying from him ( gauge cluster) because another rennlist sponsor had the part for roughly 70%of what George quoted, including shipping from Az.

I would definately try him again as he apparently has quite a stock of parts

It had to do with sponsorship issues. No big deal to tell. He's a super guy.

So do I... In fact - he's in the "Lifetime Member" user group in the forums, and his account was registered in these same Forums in 2002.

I'll also add my support for George.. When I had my 951(s) - he was a wealth of useful info - not that all info isn't useful, but his was excellent..!

Can't say enough good things about George B. Extremely helpful. Stayed on the phone with me while I was under my car, trying to diagnose an A/C problem. Then took back a part, no questions asked when I discovered it was not the issue.
First stop for me when I need used parts.

I've quoted him on parts several times but he always seems to be on the high side.

The 951 you restored practically from the frame up. Not to stir unpleasant memories, but I still remember when that car was stolen, wrecked and burned.

George B. was the guy who first encouraged me to "wean myself from my mechanic" and start doing more 944 maintenance and repairs on my own back in 1998.

After taking the plunge into more repairs over the years, George's sound advice has definitely saved me a bundle and I will always be thankful for his insight.

What I said came from him on a different forum. Never asked him and didn't really think it was important, but it might be worth contacting him to see what he says. It would be great to have him around more often.

I'm guessing, but it seems like more than a year ago, maybe two. You can pm him at Clarks-garage if you need too.
