I would not drive it until you get it fixed, unless you can afford to fix the damage from the spindle coming loose and sending your front suspension under your car. It creates a lot of damage, I have seen it on more than one occasion.

I agree, results of a failure can be a real bummer.

Back in the day, I experienced two failures. One was a pin that was sheered through in an AX, the other was a ball that pulled out of the socket on a track. That one did a lot of damage, but could have been worse. In that second case, the rebuilder did not stand behind his product (he clearly made a mistake), so a lawyer had to get involved. Good thing he was a knowledgable lawyer, a friend, and a co-951 driver and instructor.

Back in those days I became an expert on control arms, and the only choice in the aftermarket was Klym's Fabcar product. They set a standard, but some failures did occur. Like the friend I mentioned above-- he sheered a pin on his Fabcars under braking in the corkscrew. Since he got his arms used, he is not sure whether they had authentic Fabcar pins-- there were some knock offs apparently floating around. Klym thought my friend probably had some knock off pins.

After my two failures, I bought some Fabcars... only had them for couple of events though, a I soon thereafter became the first paying customer for Charlie's arms. Loved those things.

Now there are a lot of ways to go for street and track. I hope folks make informed decisions and don't drive the cars at all if there is a known problem with an arm/joint.

well I need one by this week dont' think he can ship it to me by then lol.

I phoned up one guy in my city that has used 944 parts and he said he will check on monday if he has one.

if anyone here knows of an a-arm I can get in the vancouver area please send me a pm.

I might also phone up my porsche parts dealer they might be able to get one fedexed in by Friday but it will cost a crazy amount...... but if I have to drive it then I may have no choice but I really don't want to pay 700 bucks or more on an a-arm.

If it is an early offset (86) it can ship Fedex Express to Canada on Monday. If it is a late offset we are still a little short on cores so that would be a delay.

Not much, $25 and I pay for shipping if they have good ball joint pockets. I only need lates at the moment.
I may end up shutting down the core exchange for a few months, at which time I hope there will be no more need to collect cores.

i have a driver's side arm with excellent socket if you need one.

don't rebuild any oblong or torn sockets.
