Belt tension question!
So, I have my car all back together after 2 months with a broken valve spring. I'm starting it today, but want to make sure about something first.
I did the cam belt tension last night with my arnnworx maxi tool kit. It's a used belt. I put some slack on the lower span of the belt, then slid reference bar in and put the nylon roller on the ref. bar. The reading was 0.224. I then took it out, did the math with the arnnworx instructions and it said to add 0.198 for a used belt. This gave me 0.422 with Min/Mix numbers being 0.413/0.431.
The belt feels pretty loose (almost as loose as the balance belt, but it needs tensioned itself). Does this sound like a right number? It's 3/8-1/2 deflection. I would REALLY hate to break the T-Belt! Anyone?

Your numbers look OK but something is wrong - the two belts have completley different tension settings. On the cam belt, once you got the target numbers (.413 to .431) did you then adjust the tension so the guage reading was within those values? Email me at BruceArnn@ArnnWorx.com...Bruce
