I'm looking for a engine that will fit in my 87 944 per 85.5-89 any ideas of where to look other than car-part.com thanks

 

Ky, I am picking up a car tomorrow that was in a frontal collision. According to the owner the engine is ok and intact. Supposedly it runs just can't drive. I will probably have it out in a couple of days. I live in west central Ohio at 45380

 

When I was in L.A. recently a guy offered to sell me one for $2k installed. I didn't try bargaining or anything, not to mention I didn't take a look at the engine. Just thought I'd mention it.

It's German Italian Motors in Santa Monica.

I think he said it was a rebuilt engine with 30k on it since the rebuild.

Not sure if he sold it, but a guy here on rennlist (MPD47) was selling a european 944 n/a engine that he was rebuilding. He documented the rebuild in a thread here and I believe his asking price for the whole thing was about $1100.

I have a 60,000 mile 944S 16V engine with a 10,000 mile old 951 clutch for $1500+freight. Comes with everything you need- AFM, DME, engine harness, airbox and intake.

 

What all would needed to be done to put a 944s engine in my 944n/a ?
