Default head gasket prep?

I think I will need a h/g. Any prep that will make it easier? Car is in the body shop now, so plenty of time. maybe hit manifold nuts with penetrant, any other hints?

You are on the right track, tap the heads of the alllen head bolts holding the water passage on the cylinder head down with a hammer to help free them up. They may be seized up and can be a bear to remove.

A good 6pt deep socket will be necesary to remove the cylinder head bolts.. i cant remember the size but i am thinking 19mm maybe ? 12pt will probably slip on the nut head, it did with my car.

Also when removing the cam tower, remove the bolts in sequence and also tap the head with a hammer. If you do not remove in sequence, you greatley increase your chance of having the bolts getting hung up. You will also need a fairly long 6mm (i think thats the size..) allen key, preferably socket.
