Default New Guards Red Garage Cabinets (pics)

Finally got around to redoing my 1960 metal wall cabinets for the man room

Took a Guards Red paint chip into Home Depot and had them match up some semi gloss enamel for the doors. Just sprayed the insides and bodies with Kyrlon flat white. Yeah powder coating would have been nice but can spend that money elsewhere. No they're not Gladiator but the price was right! Little more than a c-note and took me a weekend due to having to watch paint dry.

gallon of semi gloss - $25
6 cans of Krylon - $24
sanding discs - $6
2 old metal cabinets - $40
4 door pulls - $10

knowing they'll last another 40+ years...priceless!

Good idea! Now I know what I'll do with the old ones in the laundry room.

How did you mount them?

cabinets are set up to be hung on a rail so I picked up a 40" mounting rail at home depot, cut it in half, screwed the rail into the studs with 2" screws, hung the cabinet and put another screw through the shimed lower corner to the stud.

Nice, I would like to do some sort of setup soon but there is no room in a Texas two car garage with two cars in it and all the lawn stuff. I would be hard pressed to fit a standard size tool box in there.

Just make the wife park in the driveway and that will give you plenty of room!

I am living proof that this can be done. Creativity is key.

The cabinets look great. Very professional. Red seems to be the right color for the garage application.
