IceShark's headlight kit: Questions
I think I was one of the last to get one of IceShark's incredible headlight upgrade kits. About the time I got it I had several major medical problems and wasn't able to install the kit.
Time has passed and I'm now enjoying my 85 1/2 944 n/a again and my son and I are starting the kit install.
Question 1: Must the two relays be screwed into the fender well? Or can I attach them with industrial velcro tape? In other words, is it because of an electrical connection that the relays must be screwed in? I would rather not drill any holes if I have another option.
Question 2: Did anyone ever receive a wiring drawing (schematic) of the kit and how it interfaces with the factory wiring?
IceShark was a great enginner and a great guy. He's been missed.
Thanks in advance,
I-Grok

1) The relays take quite a beating, so they really need to be securely fastened. I don't think velcro is a good option. Maybe some form of Epoxy glue, but you would need to find a way to protect the housings from reacting to the chemical and coming apart.
2) There are some "instructions" floating around that IceShark wrote, but the basic idea is to completely bypass the stock wiring, replace the voltage regulator, and drill a hole in the alternator shroud to source the current directly for the lights.
Good luck with it!
