M1 15w50 summer, 0w40 winter.

Redline 15w50 for summer...not sure what I'll switch to for winter (haven't owned the car that long yet).

I agree. It's not blow by the rings, as compression tests on mine showed a mere 5-10 PSI drop from a fresh engine. You think that perhaps it's the valve seat seals?

I know it's not ending up on the garage floor.
