Default big belt problems

So i'm still having this belt issue. a serpentine belt from engine to alt to griffith a/c compressor. The belt won't stay tight and it squeals. what would cause this? i'm going to check and see if the pulleys are lined up this week sometime, and i will also check the alt. bracket, are there any other suggestions? i put the belt on tight, but the tightness doesn't matter...i'm afraid i'll ruin some berings. thanks guys

I was just in there on my car- some things I didn't realize...

there are 2 mounts for the alt, the long one by the block and one above the AC compressor. The AC compressor had 2 in-line. With the rear-most was installed, the front tended to dip just a tiny bit and can cause misalignment.

If the belt isn't staying tight, then is the tensioner shot? I can't see how those can fail unless it's bent in half.

There is a bolt that mounts the alternator up to the motor. This can actually become loose after a while causing the alternator to droop down. This happened on my car causing the belt to squeal. My trick was to have the alternator rest on the mount instead of having it slightly suspended (not sure if it was right before to have it suspended but I don't have any issues with it resting on the mount). Follow this with an adjustment on the tensioner on the bottom. It should do the trick.
