Default Fuel problem??

Ok, I have been having this problem where I turn the car on, and it wants to die on me at first. It only does this if it is cool outside. However, one thing it does if it is warm or cool is it will constantly search for idle...It will drop down to 500 then back up to around 1100....mostly sub-900 though. While this is happening, my oil pressure gauge likes to jump as well...

Last night, a new symptom started, and while it may seem unrelated, it just feels like it would be the same issue. I started off, first gear seemed to be kind of slow(er). I get into second and give it a hefty amount of pedal....but the car seems almost sluggish...then BAM out of nowhere, boost and everything just sorta kick in. Like it was waiting a certain amount of time. Third felt similar but not as bad, then fourth was fine. It did this all night last night. The worst part was I was on the interstate at 75mph and in fifth gear. It just started stumbling the car lurching forward a few times...then was fine...

Any ideas?

The hunt for idle is normal on these cars I believe. Alot of them do it. I personally can't say on mine because I've tinkered with the intake stuff, and mine hasn't ever waivered like that.

The stock 944 setup does have some turbo lag. How long have you owned your turbo - this could be par for the course with the stock turbo setup. It shouldn't cut out on you at speed though. That could be electrical of fuel.

Post this in the 944 Turbo Forum.

Oh trust me, I've been in a turbo for quite a few years now, and this car itself is two years old. It isn't stock, and it has never done this before...

Lizard, I don't wanna point at the TPS because that was replaced not even a year ago with a brand new one...

Well, that's why I also wanted to know when it was last changed. Symptoms sound exactly like an older tps developing "dead spots." Could also be AFM developing dead spots on it's carbon tracks. Lemme think more about this...

I went out there and looked...seems that the black "lid" on the afm itself is loose and pops up (almost off) easily...problem area?

If that cover comes off easily that could be bad. Supposed to be sealed. Could have moisture damage/ corrosion going on. Well, now you have an excuse to do the cleaning and adjustment on this, since you have to pry that cover off anyway to do this. Nicely described on FR Wilks website.
