im not sure what the key cutting blades are made out of, they are brass in color, but they run about $90 a piece. since 90% of keys are plated, i wouldnt imagine anyone knowing it was steel. I'de cut anything at my store, i dont give a **** if it runs the blade down, i dont buy the new ones. but that may be why locksmith's wont, they know better

Home Depot. Tell them it's a VOLKSWAGEN key. If you tell them it's for a Porsche, they won't touch it.

If you want to go to San Mateo, San Mateo Locks will cut anything for any car, for a bargain price. They are experts.

^^ +1 I went to 5 or 6 places to get my keys cut, told them it was for a Porsche, each said they don't have the die to cut them. Finally I got fed up and told the last locksmith that it was for a VW , no problem charged me < $10 for 3 I think.
