The FC3S is my favorite car, even if a 951 could be built to be faster I would still take the FC over it. I love the body style and the performance the 1.3 liter can make.

It'll only be running maybe 9 psi at the most just to be safe and should have around a stock 951 power level until I get the '83 944 sold. Then it'll be pumped up to about 250 or so with LOTS of fun stuff in it.

what all does the engine come with for 500?

what all does the trans come with for 300?

miles on the too appreciated. i'll figure out shipping when you reply and figure if i wanna get them ;p

The engine comes with everything except for reference sensors and an AFM.
Its complete from pulley's to clutch.

The trans is just the trans itself with the usual linkage on the top. I can include the axles for it if you like.

The engine and trans both have 126,xxx miles on them.

I graduated high school in 88 and I owned the 93 rx-7 TT and the 280-ZX. My 86 944 turbo blows em all in performance. At 3,000 rpm it's warp factor 8 and it's gone, the car outpaces me and it's pretty much stock. I think that the Mazda 1.3 liter roatry is underpowered and the gen 2 turbo isnt that much additional power. Forget gen 3 it will spend more time in the shop than your garage and it also underpowered, even with 2 turbos in parallel. Try to get yourself an 88 turbo S with the k-27, for around $10,000 you cant do better. Get any Porsche checked out before you buy.

My reasoning for going with the rx-7 turbo II is because of simplicity and cost.
I would love to have a 951, but I dont have the $10k to spend on one, let alone upgrade/maintain it. Plus i'll have to spend another $10k to get the 951 to my specification's for 'fast', where as I only need to spend about $5k to get the T II way beyond stock 951 power level's.

I paid $900 for the T II and will only need to put about $4k into it to make it equivelant to a 951. Upkeep of a T II is only 1/2 the price of upkeep on a 951 as well.

Bump for your parts sale, and some OT sportscar yapping...

Has the flow of cheap TII motors from Japan's junkyards dried up yet? A few years ago ppl were getting them for $400... for $1K+ it came attached to a front clip!

I am a big fan of Mazda for their elegantly simple engineering/design/build mindset, and I loved RX-7s for years. I had a couple FBs and one FC. My S5 GTU was amazingly quick and flexible, with the only mod a simple hi-flow cat.

The Cayman S is absolutely unbelievable - must have been built for these roads. However I became disillusioned with their Wankels after losing a couple and studying engine design closely. IMO, the combustion chamber is too thin and narrow which leads to poor burning - and can lead to instant-death detonation.

But they really are great cars. The RX-7's racing pedigree is firmly established, I used to love pointing out the 5 straight years of Manufacturer's Championships sticker that the factory proudly affixed on the rear-quarter-window of my (late-build) '85.

I installed coilovers on my friend's FC this weekend. They're decent cars, but I still think a 944 is more stout and a better performer.

I'd be quite interested in buying the pass side fender, strut brace and front valence (if they'll fit an 85.5) and maybe hood (all these are Guard's Red, right?) if you are willing to be nice to me on prices on account of shipping to Cape Cod, MA (02556). *edit* I'm going on a short trip, today until wed. night.
