Default High Idle

When my car gets warmed up it will Idle at around 2k and try to climb to 3k.. but will bounce back down to 2k over the course of about 15-45 seconds depending. (As you know, this can get somewhat loud and annoying) Would this have anything to do with Idle Speed Regulator or the Throttle Sensor? If I engage the clutch slightly in 1st gear the idle will fall to normal operation. If I shift to neutral and leave it.. there is no control and it does what it wants to. Oil pressure tends to be at normal operating temps. throughout. Any comments? Would be greatly appreciated.

Check your throttle cable. see if it's getting bound up.

TPS, ICV or vacuum leak possible.....I think.

Mine did this but it was cause I replaced the throttle cable and it was too tight. Wouldn't let the throttle plate return to the correct position.

Do a search for my posts. Sharky put in an excellent process for checking and fixing possible causes.
