Default New Headlight Harness

I made this a few days ago and got around to installing it last night. Its way brighter than the one I had in my old car. The last one I made for my old NA(rip) used twin 8ga power leads to the relays and 12ga out to the lights. This one uses a healthy 4ga welding cable for the power lead and 10ga out to the lights. Every connection was soldered and shrinkwrapped with double-walled, glue lined tubing. The harness is covered in high temp braided sleeving. Now I just need to install the Cibies from my old car as the Hellas I currently am using have a very messy light pattern.

Here are some pics:

That looks very clean! How hard was it to put all of that together?

Thanks! It wasn't that hard to put together, but this is the second time I've done it.
The only tricky part is that you have to think ahead about when you need to put sleeving or shrinkwrap on. Take the alternator lead for example, before you solder the ring on the end, you have to put the sleeving on, followed by the shrinkwrap, or else you won't be able to after the fact. Its just very time consuming to make pretty.

I got everything from my local parts store, Lordco. Any parts store should be able to bring the stuff in. The hardest thing to find was the braided sleeving. None of the parts stores could find it in their catalogs. All they had was that cheap looking corrugated plastic split loom. Its just as functional, but I think it looks too cheap to go into a Porsche. I ended up finding the braided stuff at a car audio installer.

Good job! I wouldn't have had the patience to build it myself -- I would have just bought the Rennbay kit. But you seems to be using a much heftier gauges -- more like what Iceshark used to make.
