interesting shipping situation
I have shipped more than a couple of transmissions in the past and most have weighed out to be about 150lb with the heaviest being 168. This is including the pallet. So I shipped out a regular transmission using freightquote and estimate the shipping high just to cover any wrongness on my part and about 2 weeks later I get a bill stating that they took another $108 off of my debit card because they weighed the trans at 225lb. I am shocked? Anyone know any reason why this trans would weigh more. The pallet couldn't have made up a 60lb difference? Pain in the **** but I guess I need to put them all on the scale from now on.

Did you drain the fluids on the others and not this one? Obviously not 50lbs, but it would make some difference.
Maybe the company charges in increments and it was above the lower price so they had to bump it up to the next level?

Yeah I used to work for a big shipping company, and believe me, there is a lot of borderline stuff that goes on behind closed doors. Just yesterday, I'm expecting a package, tracked it online and said that at 4:30 yesterday they tried to deliver it and no one was home so they left a note. Well 2 people were home, no note, no truck, nada. So basically what happens is when they have a lot of packages left, or they feel like finishing early, they can just scan packages as delivered and 99% of the time the persons not home anyway. Bush league but I feel their pain as the boxes never end.
