Great! Thanks for the advice. I'll see what I can get from NAPA.

Hopefully I won't break any plastic....but I might try slicing them off with a razor knife to release pressure. That might help.....then again, it might not.

If you are a bit careful you will not have to bleed the clutch. When you pull the hose off of the reservoir have the new hose ready to go on. Keep the end of the new hose above the reservoir. I use a small tapered punch to plug the other end. Also be careful when cutting the hose that you don't scar the plastic nipples. After you put the new hose on to the clutch master cylinder's fitting, thump the hose several times to get the air out.

The easiest way to do this is to take the hose with the black fitting that goes into the clutch master off. The fitting just pushes into the top of the clutch master and can be easily pushed back in again. Cut the factory clamp off at the brake master and slit the hose to get it off. You need one foot or less of the blue low pressure line - do not use regular black fuel line for this!!! Put the new line and clamp on to the black fitting that goes into the clutch master and with a flat head screwdriver or some other device push it back into the clutch master. Now hook it up to the brake master and clamp and you are done. You should not need to bleed the clutch as the incoming brake fluid will push the air out of the blue hose.

If anyone needs the correct hose for this, send me a PM as I have plenty available.

Why should fuel line not be used for this?

Brake fluid will degrade normal fuel line causing failure. The blue line is special for hydraulic fluid.

Just did this today to get the new brake fluid reservoir in.

What everyone forgot to mention was to be prepared for a splash of brake fluid when you get that line off the clutch master cylinder. I had to hurry to wipe that stuff off!

Brake fluid hose is Part Number: 999.181.021.5
Fitting on Clutch Master Cylinder is Part Number: 477.721.177
Brake Reservoir is Part Number: 951.355.303.02

I also replaced the 2 seals in the brake master cylinder: 911.355.922.00

The problem to replace these parts is that Porsche sells them in minimum quantities of 10 units, so it gets expensive quickly!

What did you use to remove that black plastic fitting, long needle nose pliers?

the black U-shaped vacuum hose in the photo? It's rubber, and should slide off easily. Needle nose pliers would work but might destroy it depending how old and brittle it is

"the hose with the black fitting that goes into the clutch master" - as quoted above by aribop. It's a right angle plastic fitting.
