Well, until i find out why may car is acting goofy, i cant be using the chip in it, since it ignores the o2 sensor, it was giving me just enough fuel to make my car stall once in awhile. This isnt a side affect from the chip, MY CAR is the problem, i put the stock chip back in, and it is still goofy, but it just coughs and sputters instead of stalling, so until i start swapping pieces to go away, im not gonna deal with a chip. Get car running good stock, then mod it
Despite how much more fun it was changing gears with the chip in it (really affects the butt dyno, dont ask for others because i dont have them. but it really puts the power where you want it, and each gear puts you back in your seat harder than it will with a stock chip.
For Sale - $150 Shipped, pretty sure the chips are NLA
Still available
*** $120 Shipped*****
has been said this is the most sought after mod for an N/A, and will net biggest differences

install is pretty easy, 4 screws for the floorboard over the dme, 4-6 screws to get the bracket holding the dme, then bending the tabs on the dme box and 4 more screws to open it up. seperate the board to unfold it and have access at the chip, then chip puller, or baby screwdriver to replace.
I think it would be fine in an auto, pretty sure engines are identical, just the *** end is different

Just be sure to note that it WON'T work on an early 944 (83-85.5), as the DME chip is soldered in on those cars.
I have one in my '84 (well, now its my daughters, but I digress...) and LOVE it, best thing to happen to a 944NA, in my opinion.

i think russel is making one, and I think he has some comparisons to the wilk chip on an early car. but its not like it isnt known, there isnt a whole lot to do with a chip on an NA, after you bring down the torque curve and optimise air/fuel ratio, thats it.
Wilk chip has been around for years though and has only ever had good things be said about it.
Im sure russels chip is going to be at least on par with it, because why bring out a chip that isnt?
to each his own though, this is what i have, and whats for sale

Sorry, I'm lost.... You just said it won't work in an early car cuz it's soldered in, followed by you having one in your '84 - which is an early car.

Yup, FR made an adapter board/socket you can install, it requires resonable soldering skills. Thats what I have in my early car.
