Default Washer pump whoas

Im getting a very weak stream at the windshield washer. Ive cleaned out the nozzles and blown out the line. When I suck on the line I get good positive seating of the check valves. The spray for the lights is nice and strong is this because of less distance? Do I have a bad pump or am I missing something to check? Is the windshield and lights washer on separate pumps on a 86 944 N/A.

Thanks in advance.

John

Try taking the pump off and "exercising" it by spinning it with your fingers. Worked for me.

Yes they are separate pumps. Headlight have a little bastard pump at the bottom of the tank. Personally I like having the Porsche WS pump but as pumps go, its a POS. GM actually has a better one, did I say that out loud?
And we're not even going to talk about weak streams....Bruce

Ok, I figured out what the problem was. The PO installed a T-fitting which was diverting the fluid back into the washer bottle. All I did was block the end of the T with a screw and problem solved! I now have strong squirters. Thanks to all that responded... it got me on the right track!
