I need to remove my fuel lines so i can paint the engine bay. I plan on replacing them with new braided lines or the blue rennbay ones.
but i cant seem to figure out how to remove the feed line. the return line was just a hose clamp...
Im not sure on how to get the fitting disconnected OR how the new rennbay ones attach. any info on both is appreciated.

Cut off the rubber portion from the hard line w/o cutting the hardline. Rennbay lines clamp on over the barbed hard line.
It is hard material (braided rubber). Slice or split the rubber at the connection, just do not cut the steel line.

ok so do i just cut off the fitting that was connected to the rubber hose? i already cut off the hose part. so now i just have the fitting attached to the end of the hard line.

Yes...The entire rubber line and ends are trashed . The new lines slip over the barbed portion of the OE steel line and clamped. The FPR /Damper fittings are on the new lines, no need for concern. Just cut the old lines off and slip the new on.
I had to saw a line through the old fittings then use a side cutter to help remove the metal portion. Mine is different from yours as mine are under the firewall and bellhousing which is almost impossible to work in the area but a 944 is a POC.

i dont know if you already bought your new fuel lines, but i cut the hard lines on mine when i put the LR lines on since they use compression fittings, no concern about saving the barb. if rennbay, save the barb

ahhh ok it all makes sense now.... maybe i will go the LR way then i want to cut the hard line down in the wheel well so that if there ARE any leaks they wont be even near the engine bay.

they are long enough that the almost have to go down there anyways, and they look good too! Bought 2 sets from LR, and i like the compression fittings

Some pictures to illustrate how to get the feed and return lines off. I basically used a dremel with a cutoff wheel to cut the fitting off.

I replaced mine with the Rennbay lines.
