A few of my friends got the gsd3 as an OEM tire, and every single one of them had to replace at least one due to weak sidewalls causing bubbles. These were relatively low profile (225 40 18) so maybe the smaller larger profile tires are better. Up until this point they couldnt stop talking about how great there were in the rain though...

Well, I went with Kumho Ecsta SPT versus the ASX. Seems to have one of the highest ratings on Tire Rack, and I couldn't really find a bad review on them. Most compare them to Pilots and such that cost twice as much.

Michelin Pilot Sports here.
The tire rating is not only about speed. It's about grip and I don't know of anyone on this board that doesn't need grip in the twisties. Do yourself a favor and find a way to get a proper tire for the capabilities of the car.
BTW, if you have an NTB in your area you can take the Tire Rack price to them for tires they stock and they will BEAT the Tire Rack price by 10%. It's a great deal. I got 4 MIchelin Pilot Sports installed for $650ish and the regular price at NTB would have set me back about $1000 for the tires without installation, balancing, etc.
