Default rail adapter hose kit

[QUOTE=Pauerman;4105455]Here's what I use on my car. I can splice in a "T" adapter and add a fuel pressure sensor if I want to datalog this value.

My 9xAuto blue raid adapter kit is knocking hood, i have liquid filled 1/8 gauge.
What mm size adapter do I need on the braided hose to fit the rail ?

i was going to stick a gauge on mine but when i tried to take that nut off the end it started to bend the fuel rail and i was afraid the whole threaded section was going to break off.

The OEM rail male is M12 x 1.5
Liquid filled Gauge is 1/8"

What size hose ? 3 or 4AN ?
Who sells M12.5 female to 1/8" NPT female line ?
or sells 1/8" male to 1/8" female line for my blue metric to 1/8" adapter that is upside down over torqued I guess

Needs to be a high press fuel or brake line i assume, opposed to cheap Home Depot water line or NOS line.

Is that an adapter on your hose end ? Where did you buy it ?

Thanks

Been there done that... all ya need is a small lathe, a tap, a couple of jigs and about $6 worth of everyday brass fittings...bruce

PS. this is for testing, not recommended for permanent install.

when I needed to know fuel pressure, I just fit a hose over the fitting and clamped it, took my measurements and then removed it - why do you need to spend money on a special fitting - of course, it's your $ and you can spend it any way you want, but you can do it for free

+1 on what William said. I don't run a fixed FP gauge on my cars. The weight of the gauge and adapter being held in place by a 20 some year old fitting on my fuel rail just doesn't appeal to me for some reason Just be ready to catch the ball that resides under the end cap when you remove it. And WYIT you might as well check your fuel pump for delivery rate.

My car came with a gauge on the fuel rail, not a fan, took it off. IMO it just added another point of possible leakage at the adapter and another possible cause of stress on the pressed steel fuel rail.

If there was an electrical pressure sensor that fitted in place of the end plug I might consider. At least that way I could just attach a temporary gauge there with a couple of wires when required or permanently run the wires to a cabin gauge.

Need some research but I bet a sensor and gauge combo that would fit is out there in some manufacturers parts bin.

He's one from a quick ebay search that would need an adapter: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/121159787167?lpid=82

Plenty of cheap aftermarket gauges out there with the correct psi range.

look - just because you can have a gauge for something doesn't mean it's useful. A vacuum gauge would actually be more useful, if you insist on adding gratuitous instrumentation. Oil temp is also good to know.

I have been on the "net" all day long and can't find the parts (except the gauge) that you show here. Can you please tell me where you got the parts from and what exactly they are.

That's a good way to go. Powerhaus out of Phoenix used to sell that set-up. The last time I was in their shop was in 2003. I know the business fragged since then but maybe someone on RL may know how to get hold of David. GL

Crash worthiness if these ad hoc mounts is completely unknown.
