Default Need help: Broken Bolt

One of the lower oil cooler bolts broke off.

I grinded some of it, to make it flat, so the vice grips could geip and turn it out.

That did not work.

I tried drilling a 3mm hole in the center, then used a screw extrator. The extractor keeps spining, doesn't grip.

What can i do, beside remove the engine, to get that broken bolt out?

I am getting despirate............

If you have a welder and there is enough of the bolt sticking out, you can weld a nut to it and break it loose that way. Make sure you dont catch anything like oil or gas in the area on fire with the welder. I easily extracted a broken off head bolt by welding a nut to it. The heat of the welder helps break the frozen bolt loose.

You may have to drill it out and then install a heli-coil (or timesert). The heli-coil kits come with the appropriate sized drill bit. You just need to find out what thread size the bolt is.
