It seems there are quite a few 944 and 951's on ebay lately with outrageous 'buy it now' prices... I saw a decent (not perfect) 951 in there for 20 grand starting bid.... uh huh...

Just asked the seller to authenticate his claim of it being an S. I pointed out the lack of engine photos and S badging on the car. And many of you are right there were no Automatic 944S's "THANK GOD".

Here is what I got back from the seller after asking him if he was on crack and that the car wasn't a 944S but a 944 and wasn't worth half of what he was selling it for:

The car shows as 944S when searched by the VIN. you can check if you would like. and The car's book value isn't important. I'm not selling it for less than the bid ammount. Thanks for looking!

I got somewhat the same responce......

"I only know the car is an S because the insurance company charges me more for my insurance because the VIN on the car reads as an S, but I can send you a copy of my insurance papers that say 944S, and if you owuld like I can take pictures of the engine as well, VERY clean"

I got this response... He also put pics of the engine, and I see nothing to designate an S..
Guess now he's going to try and sell it for $10,000-$15,000 KNOWING its an n/a. But then again he says its in reeeally good condition

Even if the car is not an S model it is still in SUPREME condition and does not affect anything I said about the car in the auction listing. Thanks again for looking and hopefully I can have those pictures posted by this evening if I can dig out my digital camera.
