Arash.. can you adopt me?

My parents don't mind my excessive 924/944 collection, but my mom hates driving them. The same goes for my dad...

nice car, high milliage but still looks great. NOt sure how reliable it will be with that kind of milliage.

a 968 here in Canada will easily cost triple that 20-30 grand.

that is a really good deal. California seems like a good place to buy an older porsche, prices seem much cheaper than up here (928s, 944s , 968s).

Maybe I should fly down there and buy a car and then drive it back to BC...... I wouldn't mind a 968, 951 or 928.

It's easy to find a good deal on a Porsche around here, mostly because there are a lot of Porsches and cheap owners in CA. In a given week you can find a couple "good deals", but you'd have to wait a month or two to find a really decent deal. If you're willing to consider both norcal and socal, there are deals pretty often.

Shayan, I'm sure my brother feels like you do - my mom finds driving a VW totaly uncomfortable, and my dad regards VWs as cheap and inferior. But if you know how to do laundry, I guess we could use another sibliing. You can change your last name to Ahani. Just one problem - parking here sucks, so you'll have to leave your p-cars somewhere else or build us some underground parking under our house.

Cool stuff!

The interior color isn't really my cup of tea... (think :barf: ), but some black dye can take car of that.

Have anything fancy planned for her 944?

At first, I didn't think I'd like the gray either. Especially ALL gray, like even the dash. But once you get in and drive, it grows on you. You get used to it, and start to kind of like it. Exact same thing with the exterior color - kinda cool at first, but the more you stare at it, the more gorgeous it becomes.

Then I hop back into my red 968 with cashmere/black interior, and BAM. I'm totally in love with my colors and I hate that nasty gray, and I'm back to thinking the blue is only "pretty cool", not gorgeous.

As for the 944... I'm glad you asked! it looks like I get to "inherit" the 944. So far my plans are to install some late sports seats, redo the suspension (proly not koni and M030, but something cool), fixed headlights, do something original about the front bumper, strip the paint off and repaint... etc. Also, I recently got a spare hatch, so I wanted to try shaving off all the heater wires, and tinting it silver (the car will be silver). It's a free old hatch, so why not give it a try?

Cool stuff. Though I have yet to see any car with colored tinted windows that looks good...

Going to make it a DE type car, or do you plan on keeping all the interior stuff?

Both! It will be my car for everything (except horsepower, and satisfying my craving for red). I'll keep the interior, except maybe the back seat, and I'll use the car for groceries, road trips, and some autocross. I think the 944 might get better times in AX but with 90 more hp, the 968 is just more FUN at AX.

New problem reported with the new 968 - the window switches still work after the key has been taken out of the ignition. Hmm...

If you also have a battery drain problem, then this is your problem: https://rennlist.com/forums/944-and-944s-forum/241067-solved-my-battery-drain-problem.html (check the door switch -- it's exposed to the elements and may be corroded.)

BTW -- what color sport seats? I may get rid both of my pairs this summer but they are all tan/beige....

I think that's normal, they work until you open the door.

That car looks great for its mileage and the price is very good!
