Default No springs in back?!

Just noticed the other day when I had my car up on jacks that there are only shocks in the back no springs? Is there any upgrades that can be done like maybe 951 springs and shocks?

Also the sways way back when I start from a stop I am assuming thats because of old shocks. Or is that normal?

944's use the torsion tube setup.. you see those two tube ends sticking out in your wheel well.. those are the ends, its basically twisting a big pipe that acts as your springs... Turbo's use the same.

You can buy a coilover kit and delete your torsion setup if you wish.

All 924s, 944s, and 968s including turbo models came with torsion bars instead of springs. This is a design borrowed from the VW bug.

Well fun stuff... Is there anyway to stiffen up that setup? Or is a coilover setup the only way?

Plus is the back end supposed to set back so far when you accelerate?

You can buy larger torsion bars to stiffen up the rear end of the car.

That is option code M999 you have there. Magic levitating rear end.

lol

Nah, as said above, larger bars are availible. Or coil overs.

But the stock setup works remarkably well.
