Well, I don't have anything that can weigh something that small, but I do have a set of old scales from my grandfather. Using quarters as counter-weights (since we all have quarters), it weighed about the same as 4 quarters.

Heheh.. hope that helps.

Where'd you get the tachometer with mileage gauge? I've always thought about adding one to my 924S. Did it require any extra wiring? Nice work ont he speedometer, by the way. How'd you do the white lettering? It looks different from the 924S on the picture.

Looks like great progress so far!

No, Camaro, I meant the medallion. I didn't want to throw 0.37 on a SASE and not have it be suffucient. It's a moot point as I just found a $1 stamp. I think that'll cover it!

Thanks!!!

Man, I wish I could tell you, but to be honest, I really don't know. I ended up buying about 3 different gauge clusters in order to get the set I have now.
The speedometer I ended up buying from England. I saw it for sale on eBay, and paid about $70 bucks total for it. What I thought was so neat about it was that it has 160mph on it, as well as the KPH too. It also has some additional graphics on it which kind of make it look nice too (but still in the same style). As for the tach, the only thing that I do know for sure is that it came with an 85mph speedo. The best I can figure is that it must belong to an early 80s Porsche 924? I don't know what years they made the 924 (didn't they stop sometime in the mid 80s and bring it back in 87???). But I know at least with the Pontiac Fiero that they only had 85mph speedos until 1986. It was some government law here that I guess hoped would make people NOT speed (by simply not knowing how fast they were going).

Hope that helps???

The gauges are all identical in every way to 944 or 924 gauges. The tachometer with the MPG gauge on it has a small 2 or 3 wire harness that plugs right into the back of the speedometer. The speedometer has to have a recepticle to accept that gauge. I didn't have to make any modifications at all. Although, I did take them all apart so I could re-paint the trim rings.

Oh yeah, for the life of me, I could not find a silver faced gauge surround, so I just bought this black one which happened to also have the OSX (oxygen sensor?) light in it. I hooked some wires up to it... not sure what I'll do with it yet, but I might use the light for something!

Thanks,

Todd
