Default New Tires = New Sound?

I took off the S-03's. Wow, the rear's were pretty well worn out. The front's were not too bad really. I found a great deal on 4 Hankook's and it was too good to pass up. Driving home the car sounded different, I want to say almost louder. I think maybe the Bridgetones were a louder wheel and drown out some of the engine music. Anyway these tires seems pretty nice and I like the feel of them. Have to try them out on my favorite road and see how well they handle.

Should I put the old front's on craigslist? How much could I get for some half worn S-03's?

Cory

I dunno, $50-60 bucks? Used tires have little value. I'd put all 4 hankooks on just to have a matching set... You mean, s03s, right?

Default (I meant S-03's)

Thanks. Yeah, I did get all new tires all around. Well I figure I can get a couple of bucks for them. I'll through them up on CL and see how they do. I like the sound of the car even more now with the new tires on it. I doubt these tires will handle as well as the others, but I think they will be sticky enough for the driving that I do.

1/2 worn, give 'em away.

when i changed out the conti sports to the michelin pilot sports the noise drop was unbelivable in terms of much more quiet.

inflation, tire wear, road surface play a big part in what you hear.

Default Noise

Isn't it weird what a difference (noise) tires(brand and or size) makes?I also recently changed tires(Dunlops to Fuzions) and size(205/55/16-225/50/16 set up to 225/50/16-245/45/16).The Dunlop's were still in decent shape but depending on speed and surface I would get noise and feel when changing direction. Now,with brand new tires I get more of both. It's always something.
