Incorrect Brandon. Block and head are both aluminum and coefficient of thermal expansion is the same. Belt tensioning specs take the expansion into account anyway. Certainly oil on the belt is not good from a cog/tooth-slipping view point. I would suspect a loose belt with oil on it is much more likely to jump timing. I doubt the oil itself causes any deterioration of the belt material.
