Russ.. I want it! The product looks GREAT! For those of us with mafterburner on board, will we just zero it out and leave it, yank it, or what? Go ahead and tell your customers to come see it at work, on a dyno, at the Fest! 8/10-11

Thank you my friend!

Actually this summer I'm going to be at the local 911 shop (R&D Automotoive) as he has a slew of 911 guinea pigs waiting for me and a dyno next door! On top of that, word has already spread across many volvo/bmw/vw/audi forums, I've got guys beating down my door every day for new products...

And I actually believe I will have time to build my own race car this year? That will be a stretch....

DAN!

When are you going to call me???

Yeah, I'm going to send you a chip for your 88NA too, it's almost done. Doing g-tech tests now, will be doing a dyno soon to see just where we are at. But do give a call so we can go over your 951!

Regards,
Russell

Ok, so I am kinda new to the 951 game. After looking at this product, I wonder who your target customer is? Is this for the 'tweaker' who is always looking for a little more power? Or is this for the guy that continues to upgrade parts but doesn't want to buy a new chip every time? Or who???
I think it is an amazing product but I wonder if it is more than I need? I think I trust you to build my tune for my application more than I trust myself to build it better??

The standard version is aimed at the guy who is always adding mods, changing his vehicle configuration and buying new chips every year or so. The Pro version targets tuners who actually burn chips, as it has a file mode among other things.

The Maxtronic targets all markets as it replaces old chips that don't last forever, and gives security features. Many people want to have options of the tunes they use at any given time, the Maxtronic makes this easy.

Of course I will continue to do chip development and continue to develop new chip products. But as tuning tools like this are made more widely available more people will learn how to properly tune their vehicles, and will share that info with others, fostering more communication and interaction in the community at large. Maxtune is about more than just tuning.

Regards,
Russell

Working on documentation, that will help a lot!

Also, I'll be doing a video tutorial to give some tuning pointers and parameters. The program does not implement any limits, so it is crucial that you understand the effects of changing the maps before you actually do it to your car. This is not a toy, it is a tuning tool.

Every way I could envision implementing protection in the way of limits, I kept falling into the same trap of having to keep jumping back and forth between ign/fuel maps to make small adjustments, and that's just not feasible in a real-time tuning environment. But I just thought of something else today, so in the standard version I'm going to implement limits based on the map you begin with as a baseline and only allow X amount of change in either direction from those values. That will offer a bit of protection at least. I will implement this and put it in the next demo version, and the Standard version. This would still give unlimited tuning spectrum, it would just mean once you reached the limit you would have to close the program and re-open it again, starting with the last tune as the new baseline. Again, a little bit of a pain in the butt, but some protection against mistakes.

Here's a quick pointer hint. You are running a stock chip, copy the part throttle fuel/ignition tables from map2 to map1, voila, you have a euro chip!

Regards,
Russell

I received Maxtune today, and I have to say it is incredible and EASY to use. This evening I created my own image (even though only a slight modification was made), and tested it out. On Wednesday, I will be receiving a new RS Barn 4 into 1 header system and will be using Maxtune to tune the car.

We're still attempting to create the perfect 944S chip. Wonderful advances have been made to make this chip exceptional. Dyno results of 944SMAX V11 will be posted Saturday.
