I've been noticing a lot of treads in which people make a reference to oil pressure. Mine runs at a constant 5 bars. Is this good?

The oil pressure gauge defaults to 5bar when the sending unit losses a lead I believe, and if the wires are reversed on the unit, it also pegs up past 5bar, and the low pressure light will 'flicker' at idle. You can confirm this on clarks-garage in the shop manual.
I have a problem where i get oil pressure, but have the needle bounce between my normal warm pressure of 3bar to 5bar at idle. I don't know how to stop this. I think im going to take the unit off next oil change, and inspect it/clean it out. Any advice on it?

Clean the grounds behind the dash and clean the two connectors on the sending unit. Usually its a grounding issue if its bouncing around.
You should immediately get 5 bar after starting the car even at idle. As the oil temp goes up the pressure should drop slightly. Anywhere around 2.5-3bar is normal. It should go back to 4.5-5bar when on the gas cruising.
It also has alot to do with the weight of the oil you are using and your ambient temp in the area. Case in point, i usually run 20w50 in 80-90 degree NYC summers. Oil pressure never drops lower than 3.5 bar usually. If i run 10w40 (which i use in the winter) during the summer months my oil pressure drops to around 3 bar.
