How did you secure it, or does it just sit on top of the battery?

Thanks.

Interesting I have never seen one of these, and the car didn't have one when I got it. I have a cover over the positive terminal that is bright orange, and is clearly visible from the passengers seat. Passengers make comments about it, but I never see it from where I am sitting :-)

Even the factory ones just sit on top of the battery. The sides extend down an inch or so; with the hood closed, there isn't enough clearance for the thing to come off.

Thanks - didn't know if it might rattle, though.

Mine didn't have one on it and it's pretty low on the list of things to do

It just sits on top of the battery. The sides extend down far enough that when the hood is closed it doesn't rattle or come off. It was very easy to cut the box then sand the edges smooth. It looks similar to the pic in post #14.

WOW! I can't believe that most of you don't have the covers (and some have never even SEEN one!) No wonder your cars are so slow;as this cover adds at least 25HP!

Just joking, guys! I am buying a cover from Cory9584, as it is a nice piece of oem equipment to have IMHO.

The factory one snaps over the top of the battery. Its not a really tight fit, but it does hold itself on there. My 944S has one but my 88 944 is missing its cover.

+1. I did not know Porsche had this accessory. My battery sat naked under the hood. I bought a terminal cover for it, but I would love to get one of these covers.

Here's a pic for the battery cover impaired... it's from the day I bought the car. Looks way different now!

I don't even use it anymore since I have an Odyssey lightweight battery.

A piece of duct tape over the positive terminal is what i use for my Odyssey PC680. My stock Diehard has a bright orange cover.

You should have something covering the positive terminal and you must absolutely make sure the battery is secured.
