Indicated 130 mph on a level road at sea level, around 75 F. Reasonably quick up to 115 or so, last 15 took some time. Could not reach redline in 5th gear (irrc it was around 5500 rpm)

it may read slow in lower speeds, but certianly not at higher speeds. unfortunatly there is no way a N/A can hit 140. i've had my 88 924S up to about 136 indicated and my 85.5 944 to 133-134 indicated. personally i think 0-120 does ok in these cars, its the last 10 or 15 mph that really take a while...

130 MPH. on 675 going south. there's a straight line once you get on 675 from 285 all the way to almost to exit 5.

Glad some realize our speedometers are off... Best indicated speed I've achieved so far was 135 in the front straight at Limerock. That's tough to do actually, need to be kind of hairy coming down the hill to do it. 148-152 various places at The Glen, probably close to 160 on its front straight the day I spun out because after hard braking and realizing I'd overshot turn one I glanced down and I was still doing 135 or so. Again, all indicated speed, so real speed a little less. In every case, car had more to go, and felt very solid. Although I must say at Limerock going up/down hills a couple of times the car felt 'floaty' like air was getting under it and lifting me. In these instances I just kept the car straight and let it settle a little, and the solid feeling came back. Maybe just my inexperience.

So far you guys have killed my speed record. Looks like I might have to try it again next weekend. The first time I tried it I came across two cop cars. One cop passed me when I was doing 80, thats when I decided I needed to slow it down.
My cobra radar didn't even go off after driving past two cop cars that day, thats real reassuring.

I will neither confirm nor deny 165+ indicated in the 951.

yet your 951 can attain a top speed of 180mph and do 0-60 in 4.5secs !!. Just by looking at the description I can tell that is one amazing machine.

100mph on GA400
I've done probably 130 on GA 400

I've done somewhere around 160 on the speedo in the 951.
And I hit 105 today in the 944, oh, and yesterday, oh, and the day before that.
Yeah...

Why bother? You know what the car is capable of, why risk your license (and lives) (and your life) just to see what the car can do. You know it can do 100. You know it can do 120 and it can probably do 130. All of which will lead to a suspended license until your 21 probably and all of which will probably send you 6-feet under if you wreck.

Take it from someone in your age bracket (im 21), 9 out of 10 times when you do something stupid and pay for it in a car is when you are following a friend, have a friend following you, have a friend in the car or your trying to 'best' someone.

Seeing two cop cars should be enough of a sign to slow things down and not even bother.

A stock 944S did 170mph? I'd love to believe that because then my S2 should be good for a buck-eighty!

Have not had my car much above about 95mph...but hopefully I'll get to a track this summer. There's not too many roads around here where I'd

A) feel comfortable at 100+
B) see mininal risk to my license (eg: not very patrolled)
