Nice to be back
Greetings all... I've been away form the list for a while so here's a note to catch up... Last June, my faithful old Stone-Grey Metallic '87 944 died of massive electrical failure (no fire, just old wires). Aged 317,000+ miles, it had a rough (previous owner was a drug runner) but, in the end, a fun life. I still miss it. Even though I now have a newer machine, that old beast had evolved from a spongy old used car in desperate need of a right-side suspension to a chariot of fire, without whose help, this portly Porsche person never would have won 8 regional class Autocross championships and one Parade (Sacramento) class championship (even beating some lesser modified 951s).
Today, I drive a more powerful, but quite tame, Arctic Silver on Black 1991 944 S2 Coupe. No roll bar. No harness and harness bar (yet). No custom springs or performance chips (yet). It's kinda like starting all over again. Since July, I've had to replace AC lines, a thermostat, a fuel pump, the steering rack, a coolant hose, the accessory pulley and miscellaneous other bits and pieces.
Look for me at a Northern CA autocross or at Parade in San Diego this summer. Good to be back.

Thanks... I left the list a few years ago. I did so, quite honestly, because of the supercharged bickering between two vendors that seemed to dominate the threads at the time. Neither outfit exists today so, here I am.

Yup -- it will be the AX/Track car for this year -- I'm leaving the S2 stock and may return the 964 to being more street than track. We will see. The white car is destined as the 944Spec car and I need all the seat time in it I can get so it should make all the AX's .
