Default Starter wiring

Hey all,

I'm putting my starter back in the project car, and I'm having a brainfart as to where the middle-thickness wire goes (it's been months since I pulled it, and years since I replaced another 944 starter). Could one of yall possibly reach a camera under their car and snap a quick pic for me? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,
Kevin

Now that's odd... I thought the 951s had the same starter wiring, but your studs are in different locations than mine... time to cross-post

Thanks for the pictures!

There are three wire connections to the starter; The main battery cable, a 10 ga. wire from the alternator, and a smaller 16 ga wire that energizes the starter. The small wire goes by itself on the smaller screw. The two larger wires both go on the larger stud.
In the pic above, you can clearly see the small 16 ga. wire. The two larger wires are under a rubber boot. There's a third stud with a short jumper from the solenoid/relay to the starter itself; don't mess with it.

My own brain fart. Forgot where the wires go. Did a search and here it is. Rennlist rules.
