What suspension setup do you use?
With all these threads that are boondoggles -
I thought Id post one up that we all might learn a little from. What suspension setups are you running and on what car? Im curious because Ive finally saved enough money to do some substantial change and wonder what the rest of you did.
Thanks in advance!

Well, ive got KYB front and rear shocks, 200 lb weltmeister springs in the front, 951 sway bars 25.5 front and 18 rear, KLA strut brace, and thinking aboug going with some rear droplinks and better bushings
These are all on my 1983 944 N/A
I couldnt afford the koni's at the time so I went with the KYB shocks.

Well really street, but something a beginner could grow with on the track as well. I have young joints so Im not too worried about harsh rides - but I am worried about driveability in general on streets.

Just out of curiosity why do people run Konis front struts with bilstien rear shocks? The damping curves are totally different for every other application Ive seen, so it seems like it would be hard to get them matched up well.

I have a 968 and one of the early owners did some suspension work that includes
Weltmeister sways
Koni Yellows
Weltmeister 200 lb springs that lower the car an inch
18 inch turbo replica wheels
Personally it was too harsh. So as much as I loved the wheels I 'downgraded' to 17" to get some taller sidewalls. I also run a little less air pressure ( 36/38 rear, 34 front).
Before the wheel and tire (pirelli amimmetricos) change I felt like I could feel every pebble and on rough roads it was ridiculous in my opinion. Noisy too.
The great news is that the car handles like it's on rails. Truly a blast in the twisties.
However, this is a personal taste issue, this car is my daily driver and I prefer the gran touring experience to the racing experience i.e. I like a well performaing car, but I like my creature comforts too.
Also, in my experience there is a psychological link between noise and ride. If the car is noisy, has rattles etc you'll perceive the ride as rougher than if everything is bolted down nice and tight.
Good luck,
