I emailed the guy, and he replied:
"Two tires are brand new and the other two have 35% left. I am at my lowest asking price. I can separate the tires but I will not go down on the price any. I'm not try to sell the tires, I am basically giving them away with wheel purchase. I am located in Fresno CA. 93701"
Even if two of the tires are new, the wheels have to be perfect to be worth $600. I'd wait until a better set come up on craiglist, I've bought a set before for $200 without tires.

The particular set of wheels that are being discussed are early-offset wheels, and will only fit pre-1986 944's and not your TurboS. Late-offset phonies do exist and came on many Turbos -- but your TurboS came with lightened flat-dish that are considered more desirable by some.
Plus, $600 for phonies seems a little too much to me too.
