KLA Sub
Anybody install the KLA Sub in the rear passenger cubby (not the spare tire area one) without removing the rubber panel on the back of the carpet. My carpet is in too good shape and I feel guilty peeling that off.

Hah, lucky you. Mine are so dissentegrated they fell off before I could take them off.
But about the sub box, I'm interested in seeing some good pictures of this once you get it installed.

I didn't do a thing to mine - just propped it up a bit. I am thinking about bolting a loop door handle on the top of the box - that way it will hold the carpet up by itself

I built a custom fiberglass box that sits deeper in the cubby and left the carpet alone. The sound is fine w/ the rubber, I think they don't want the sub pounding against the carpet backing.

Yeah, vibration might be an issue. I don't think it will hamper the sound of the sub all that much. In my case, the rubber came off in one piece. It looks like it will glue right back on if I should want to go that route.
I have to say, I'm a bit concerned about the way the box corners press into the the body panel. I've done what I can to cushion it, but depending on what you use, you run the risk of accumulating moisture.

I've not noticed a moisture or noise issue with mine, and I've run them in both cubbies for about 4 years now. The right side drops in nicely, the left needs to have the sunroof lift assembly removed. As far as the carpet, I let the flaps cover it and have not noticed a noise issue at any volume. I did, however, remove the foam backing.

I installed a couple of loop door handles on mine. One on the front edge of the sub and one at the rear. This props up the carpet slightly so the sub can 'breathe' a bit better, it protects the woofer and I didn't have to mess with the carpet either.

What kind of drivers can fit in that box? I was building a molded fiberglass box for the cubby, but i used some old resin and it didnt harden. I ended up just using a MDF box, but i dont like having it the back sliding around.

I've got one I haven't installed yet...I was thinking about getting a relatively cheap/good condition black rear carpet, and cutting an 8" hole then basically screwing a grill over the hole/driver (removing the rubber/insulation would be part of this also
it's not quite as stealth, but I think that SQ might be a little better
