Yeppers, up to 15 x 11 and yeppers, very scare and VERY expensive. Even difficult to source "in the day". I heard that even factory connected privateers in the day went with a mixed wheel program, using Fuchs in the front and less expensive (and apparently more plentiful) MiniLites in the rear....as on the green Max Moritz 914-6 FIA car.

I tried to find the pics but couldn't...there was an original 4-piece set on Ebay not too long ago. Asking price was a mere $15K!

No, that would make the wheels stick out even further.

Comparing early to late offset, on a late offset car the hub is closer to the fender than a early offset.
If you add a spacer, the wheel moves further out.
Offset = distance of mounting surface from the middle of the wheel.

I think the only other problem with finding the RSR 15x11 Fuch's its finding a tire that will actually fit on them. Unless you buy competition tires the only street tire i could find still made that would come close to fitting that width is the Pirelli P-Zero system.. and they are $491 each for a 345/35/15. Someone had a set of real 9x15 and 11x15 RSR's forsale on the 6-SpeedOnline forums, asking price was $7500. Not sure if he sold them or not..





I was very close to buying a '85 930 this summer with 15-inch Gotti's. One of the deciding factors against buying the car was actually the fact i was going to need to spend roughly $1200 (almost half of what i bought my 944 for) on new tires for it! I figured it was going to be cheaper in the long run to buy a set of 17' Turbo twists and try to sell the Gotti's on eBay.

Anyhow, if you really wanted Fuch's on a late offset car, you could run 15x6 Fuch's on n/a cars with single piston calipers. The wheels are narrow enough to fit the fenders correctly. The only problem there is the maximum width tire you can run is a 205.

Well you could save money and probably have Lindsey Racing make a set of custom Fuch's with a offset that would work with your car.

But your right.. i would rather have Big Red's!

So are you saying the 7x16s on my 930 wont fit my 951 but the 9x16s off my 930 will?

Ive been contemplating getting my 930 fuchs redone and putting them on the 951 since they are larger, but if they dont fit, then theres no bother.

I have a hankering to go red on the fuchs like Tifo however and if I do that they will have to stay on the air cooled.

Powder coating an aluminum wheel makes it a bit weaker. It probably won't fail on you, but its something to consider.
