trust me, ive driven S2's and turbos. I love the S2 for the low end torque... but a 951, especially with some very simple bolt ons, will just blow it out of the water, no question.

HA! There inlies the problem. I just got done paying a 5k dollar bill for pretty much a full tear down of my engine. It was leaking from everywhere. But its practically new now!

But yes, the maitnence is a bitch!

Then again, I had a 951 with 200k miles on it (i owned it for about 20k of those miles) and put MAYBE 500 dollars in it. What a great car.

i really dont understand why pple say the turbo is that much worse than an s2 or n/a. The turbine is a pain to work on w/o pulling the motor but other than that the engine and maintenance is just the same! Maybe ive worked on too many of these cars but i just dont see what the big deal is with working on them. Now if your paying for someone else to work- that is a pain in the wallet.

you have one of the coolest cars, but I've always heard that a turbo is a turbo no matter what engine it's attached to. 4 or 6. play with that.

Well, its the difference between dropping the oil pan on an N/A and a turbo, naturally its more work on the turbo because all the exhaust that has to be removed. Everything is just more complicated. I always did my own work, till the whole engine was leaking, i was having clutch problems, and no time. Then someone else does the work at 100 dollars an hour, and you end up broke.

More power = more problems in my opinion too. I snapped the bolts holding the CV on the diff. flush. That just wouldnt happen in an N/A. Blown head gaskets seem to be more common on the turbo cars too for whatever reason, probably people not monitoring their A/Fs.

Just seems the turbos are more work.

I agree dropping the pan is a bitch, but how often are you gonna do it? To me the added gains of having a turbo well overcome the disadvantages of working on it.
