Default Blowing smoke under boost-suggestions?

Although I haven't done a leakdown test, compression is good and my plugs look great. There's no excessive oil in the I/C pipes either, but under heavy acceleration I've been told I'm blowing smoke. If I drive conservatively (trying not to use boost) oil consumption is practically non-existent, but if I really get on, it obviously uses too much oil. At night if someone is behind me and I open it up, I can see the smoke in their headlights.

The car runs strong and only has 32K miles now. The turbo spools up much sooner than when it was stock, with the K26/8, Vitesse MAF,EBC, and teste pipe. I'm considering taking out the turbo and re-sealing it, and doing the AOS seals also.

I'll check the bearings when it's out if I do it, and get it rebuilt if necessary, but I'm assuming that just replacing the seals is doable as a DIY?

Any other suggestions before I tear it apart? I'm tired of putting oil in all the time, and it's a little embarrassing to be smoking like that. Any comments would be appreciated. TIA.

It seems like all 951's blow some smoke on boost but it's usually unburnt fuel. Sounds like your seals on the OAS or turbo should be looked at. Is your intake or throttle body oily?

Well I still need to take it to the dyno and get my AFR checked, so some of the smoke could be fuel I guess. The intake and TB were dry a few months ago when I had it apart. I couldn't get the AOS out at that time, but since the intake is dry I assume that's not it anyway. With only 24K miles a year ago, I assumed that it sat for long periods and a seal on the hot side dried out. I've never had one apart though, and don't know what the seal arrangement is, or how hard it is to change them. If changing the seals means it has to be re-balanced, I'll probably just get it rebuilt. Not sure it's worth it though if it's not hurting anything.

Replacing the seals means a rebalance. If you are going to go to all the trouble of removing the turbo, it would make sense to do a rebuild. Sometimes you can have dry intake piping and still have bad seals in the turbo if it is blowing oil into the hot side and straight into the exhaust.

That's kind of what I figured. If that's all it is, I may just live with it. I wasn't thrilled with the idea of taking out the turbo anyway.
