Default X-POST FROM 944 TURBO FORUM: Rear camshaft housing plug shattered *With Pictures*

I was wondering where my oil was going, i never encountered such a serious oil leak before.

I thought it was the rear camshaft housing gasket, but as i was removing it, it came off in two pieces, and there side of the engine/block was literally filled with oil, as well as a pretty big puddle under the car.

I will be taking a photo soon, but did anyone encounter a break/shatter in the rear camshaft housing plug?

I think it is possible to install it oriented the wrong way, with a lot of forcing the bolts in wrong. Maybe this was the problem?

This was the fourth time i replace the gasket, if you go to the turbo board, i explained the 'history' behind it.
