Please let me know what you think of the boost gauge after you install it. I'd also be interested in hearing about your installation.

Are you suggesting to leave the dimmer wire disconnected during installation?

I have a cyberdyne boost gauge installed. I put it in for the same reasons you mentioned. Its VERY easy to read at a quick glance and it has the memory recall so I can watch the road when under full boast and then check later.
It is a little too bright (at night only) but it serves it purpose well for me.

Sorry, but I wont have a chance to put it in until this spring. It will be going into a pillar gauge pod with a wide band O2 gauge.
I figured if it is too bright I would attempt to apply a piece of window tint over the face. If that didn't work I would learn to live with it or sell it on ebay and get a new gauge.

Hell, that would probably look like ILS on your dash at night! Hopefully no low flying planes would land on you! Sorry, I had to.
I kind of like those Cyberdyne gauges, though my vote goes for Defi.

I got it right away...did you know that the Terminator is the only character to make it to the top 50 villains AND top 50 heroes list for movies of all time?
Some useless info for you.

I just received my Cyberdyne Boost and Fuel Pressure gauges. They're not installed yet, but my first impression is that they're not what I expected.
The black face which, supposedly, is solid black with no visible markings when not powered, isn't black at all. Rather, it looks like an amber (orange really) lens over a poorly constructed face. Behind the lens there's a thin plastic plate covering most of the face. The indicator text ("Boost" or "Fuel Pressure") is a separate piece which doesn't fit well within the black plastic plate. Edges of the various pieces are curled at their seams. The l.e.d. display consists of three separate single digit displays (each with a ".") which aren't even aligned. When I took them outside to the car (on a very overcast day at dusk), they just seem to appear a rather bright orange. I'm afraid to look at them in bright sunlight.
