Generally, the aluminum A-arms will break before they bend. If the arm is structurally messed up, the rebuild kit won't do anything. I guess you could have bent the ball-joint pin. But all of this is just spitballing. This isn't something that you should be just throwing new parts or rebuild kits at without knowing what the actual problem is. I suggest that you take the car to a mechanic that knows what they are doing and have them tell/show you exactly what the problem is, and get it in writing. Maybe even have them do the work.

I have a newly rebuilt control arm with new bushings installed. Never been installed since rebuild. Not sure who performed the rebuild. Bought from Ebay. Selling for $150 you pay shipping. Let me know if youre interested.

I wish you had a turbo. I have two excellent control arms for the 86 turbo.

Um. 85.5/86 N/A cars and 86 Turbo cars have the exact same control arms with the same part numbers.
