Default Supercharger for S2

I know, I know…..this question has been asked here a million times…and I should probable get rid of my S2 and get a turbo, but the thing is…I’m kinda attached to my S2. I have sentimental reasons as to why I cannot get rid of it. I saw this speed force racing supercharger that is pseudo affordable and was wondering if anyone had tried it or what people thought of it. Here is the link:

Tim @ SFR has created some very nice stuff. I'm sure it is top quality. i've thought about getting it myself. The only thing that deters me is, i would want somekind of engine management (chip) to make it plug and play.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can get a megasquirt system and any kind of supercharger you can fit under the hood.

Megasquirt is almost a plug and play solution for the S2, though no-one has tried it yet.

Last I knew the SC kits required removal of A/C. So if your in a warm climate and like your A/C, it may not be for you..

I dont wanna take any chances. I'd rather put something in the car thats been proven to work, even if it costs more money. I did just buy the 944s2max chip, cant wait to get it. Thanks Russell

Thats not true it already been done..

Can't say it works yet as I don't have the engine in the car..

I've seen / heard of a couple of supercharged S2's. On the one I actually saw (that my shop worked on), they never got the tuning just right. In the end, the owner abandoned the idea and uninstalled the unit.

The way I see it, the two biggest obstacles in a blower for the S2 are:
1. Properly tuning it. (No real plug and play is available for the application)
2. The additional stresses that a supercharger would put on the engine. Money is better spent ensuring that all of the internals are up to speed, especially in the head. (IE: Cam chain guide/tensioner). Don't expect to put a supercharger on a 944S2 that hasn't been properly maintained and think it will last very long...

You can get more bang for the buck if you upgrade the suspesion of a 944S2 than trying to get more power out of the motor, IMHO.

Still, it would be nice to get a bit more power out of my car -- say something around 250hp....

You might want to contact 'bluecamaro'. He did an SC to his S2 last summer.

My ears were burning

I've done a whole bunch of research on this, and there are alot of factors involved.

1st: What are your goals with the car?

2nd: What is your budget?

3rd: How are your fabrication skills?

4th: What is your time frame?

5th: Are you willing to learn?

250BHP is defintely possible. I've gained 15WHP on my 944S, and I have only begun. The S2 is an even better platform. I'm still working out my chip. I'm expecting another 2-3WHP once it is finished.

Next will be the MAF conversion, I believe a solid 10-12WHP gain will be had. I have some custom 16V headers, that "claim" an increase of 10WHP throughout the whole power range. It's possible. But like always I will post dyno charts, when everything is bolted on and tuned properly.

That still leaves cams and headwork.
